History of CMS Ex-students Association (CEA)
On April 14, 2002, through God’s grace we some CMS ex-students residing at Chennai hosted a reception in Kowski Dies & Tools campus to initiate the first formal Fellowship as ‘CMS Ex-Students Fellowship’. It was decided at this first meeting to endeavour to keep a record of all former ex-students, “thus promoting and maintaining fellowship” and help “orphan & destitute children”. The CMS Ex-Students Fellowship was renamed as CMS Ex-Students Association (CEA) and legally registered under Societies Act of Tamil Nadu in 2003, as guided by Bank and Government officials.
By the immense grace of God the Almighty, from 2002 onwards, the monthly meetings are conducted on first and second Sunday by CEA at Nagercoil and Chennai respectively. In these monthly meetings, ex-students gather for CEA activities and raise fund for the purpose of CEA. CEA has grown in these years and is organizing social events and celebrations at various CMS at Tamilnadu. CMS ex-students from various places of India and abroad are attending our annual day celebrations. Through the anniversary celebrations we are encouraging the CMS children by witnessing our blessed life through CMS. From 2010 onwards we are issuing CEA Excellence award to the top three CMS’s SSLC students. CEA has published palm lets, newsletters and souvenirs for its growth. These are significant in promotion of friendship and contact among the ex-students.
By the abundant grace of God, membership has gradually increased and sponsorship is also increasing by the members, well wishers and donors through their regular subscriptions, contributions, donations, etc. We are sponsoring 37 children in CMS through IFS scheme of CMS. Now CEA is functioning in Chennai, Nagercoil, Hosur, Dharmapuri Tirunelveli, Madurai and Serapattu areas with the Administrative office at Chennai. The Association is carried out by the dedicated leaders elected by democrative way of CEA members.
About 40,000 students have come out from CMS; we wish fellowship with every ex-student for promoting helping hand to one another.
